Planting Corn

Now there’s corn planting

A tank of fertilizer

Putting the row monitor in the tractor

Lots of talking on the phone is required to get any job done

Filling the tractor tanks with fertilizer

Treated corn

Planting

The guide line to keep the rows spaced properly

The planter puts fertilizer in the ground right on top of the seed

Turning at the end of the field

Raising one row marker lowering the other

A nice three point turn

Aparently the seed companies like pretty colored corn

And then water it up

And then there’s CORN PLANTING

This will all look very diferent in a month

The soil needs worked to break up clods and kill weeds

Done by hand with antique equipment

Then raked smooth

Perfectly straight lines carefully marked

I pause to admire a really cute butt, oh wait, a trench dug to put the seeds in

Cover the seeds and water them up

considering what you have told me about Illy lately, I am not sure which is the load of fertilizer? and, does Illy drive herself around in that wagon?
