The time had been too short indeed. We had loved every minute of it but it was time for the next part of our journey.
We stalked more Amish
Almost caught a perfect picture of this pretty girl
The one horse looks to be lame on his right fore, poor thing
We weren’t the only ones who wanted to see them
We stopped at Laura Ingalls Wilders home
And saw the sights between rain showers
The house was beautiful
My second choice to live in after the one at the battle field
We ate at Sonic on the way. It was awful, service, food, all of it.
The fog rose up from the hills. It was beautiful
We stopped by Eminence to see the home of The Big Ride
We had friends who used to go. The group lost at least one horse a year.
It was much trashier than I had imagined
Then we happened to find Johnson’s Shut-ins
For a kid that hates baths he loved the water
Mom had heard of it some how
And it was every bit as good as it sounded
The water was shallow and clear
Or deep but still clear
Or ripply with water falls to slide down
It was a great place that needed to have more time spent
Only problem was everybody else knew it too
We finally made our hotel and ate supper at a Huddle House
We froze, it was delicious. This crust was an L for Lala
And one last one of the “water slides” at the shut-ins
what a fun day. Remember that strange thing we saw? What was it, a dam of some sort? But way up on top of a mountain. So strange!
