We first came upon this Saturday after venturing out into the storm for an emergency internet fix
The lights were still flashing and one set of foot prints led up to the road but the barbed wire wasn’t broke
The next morning heading back to Chadron they were working on extracting it
I voted for skipping church to stay and watch
I wanted to see how they were going to get this semi out of there
They had another semi waiting to transfer the load
Three tow trucks waiting to pull
I was so supprised when we came home hours later to find that nothing had changed
The cops were still sitting with lights flashing, the semi was still waiting to take the load
The tow trucks were still waiting patiently to tow
Slowly ever so slowly they were still unloading the truck
I was glad we hadn’t waited around to watch them pulling it out. Unfortunately there hasn’t been one word about it on the news which at least tells us that the driver was okay. We didn’t stop to ask the cops holding traffic, they were looking decidedly less than cheerful by afternoon.
As hard as we looked we couldn’t see anywhere that the fence had been broken which leaves us to believe that the semi cleared it. It would have been some thing to see when it happened. A flying semi leaping gracefully into the air. Yeah, it’s good that we weren’t there.
